Grok Bot this week: Pages, phone apps, saved logins and Krea

Oct 19 to 23 in one read: what shipped in Grok Bot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT and Hark, what broke, what to do now, and what to watch the week of Oct 26.

Update the Grok Bot app, then decide where your Bot's logins should live. This week Bots learned to build Pages, use your phone's Calendar and Reminders, make videos and, on Friday, save logins and cards in a vault. Meanwhile the X Subscription switch stranded some Bots, computer updates dropped installed apps, and some computers ran out of memory.

The short version#

  • New in Grok Bot: Pages, v0.75.2 with video creation and Shop Pay, phone apps, 1Password, saved logins, X Spaces and Lists, and a Krea plugin.
  • New in Cursor: agents can now use desktop apps, not just the browser (story).
  • Broke: the X Subscription switch split Bots from plans, and computer updates dropped installed apps.
  • Opinion: Claude platforms should poll for bans for now.

What shipped in Grok Bot#

Pages and phone apps. Our Oct 23 issue leads with both. In short, Bots can build reports, memos and dashboards that you edit together or have the Bot keep current, and owners can share a Page across their organization (story, night one uses). On phones, @bot posted at 6:14 PM ET Thursday that Grok Bot "can now use Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, and more apps on your phone", rolling out on iOS and Android. Three users report the tools worked only while the app was open (user reports, no staff answer yet; story). The iPhone Action Button also arrived (story).

The rest of v0.75.2. The changelog entry, dated Oct 22, says "Bots can create videos from a description or from an image you share", pay with Shop Pay, connect X Money in one tap, and that what a personal Bot "saves to memory in one chat is remembered in all your chats with it". The notes give no plan, region or price limits (story). The 0.71.2 notes, dated Oct 14, went up Monday and raised a message to 20 attachments (story).

Signing in. The 1Password integration lets you approve the logins your Bot may use and, per @bot, "is rolling out to users over the next few days" (post, story). Then at 3:43 PM ET Friday @bot posted: "Grok Bot can now save your logins, cards, and contact information." The launch video shows a sign-in form with a box to save to "Grok Bot's vault" and a Vault tab in Settings. No changelog or docs entry yet names a plan, platform or version (story).

X and plugins. The X connector now finds live Spaces, manages your Lists and helps run livestreams (story). Krea posted at 12:00 PM ET Friday that you can "generate images and video with the best models in the world, right from Grok", billed to your Krea plan (story). Users also added a phone line through a calling service (story).

How people used it. We published six workflows and three playbooks. Picks: a checker Bot that caught a sync reporting success for six days (story), a daily AI news brief built from an X monitor and a podcast clipper (story) and a lettings business on Bots that wait for a yes (story).

What broke, and what got fixed#

  • Monday. Staff said starting the X Subscription switch from the wrong account can leave Bots with no included usage; don't buy a second plan (story).
  • Wednesday. The account combine step can leave Bots on one account and the plan on another; staff say don't reset, delete or pay again (story). Staff said the local tools stuck on "Never" bug is fixed (Oct 21 issue).
  • Thursday. Staff say each computer update swaps in a fresh computer that keeps files and logins but not apps (story).
  • Friday. On some computers a host process grows until memory runs out. Colin wrote: "This is a known issue we’re already tracking", and "Holding off on more Reset attempts for now makes sense." No fix date (Oct 23 issue).
  • Status page, all minor and resolved (times ET). Oct 19: routines "may be delayed", 12:15 to 1:21 PM (status), and billing, plan and usage errors, 2:09 to 2:28 PM (status). Oct 21: billing dashboard errors, 11:46 AM to 1:40 PM (status).

Cursor#

Cursor posted at 11:59 AM ET Friday that "Agents can drive desktop apps like the iOS Simulator to test the features they build" (story). It isn't in Cursor's changelog yet: the newest entry there was still the Oct 16 canvases update when we checked at 4:39 PM ET. Also, Bugbot on Bitbucket and automations triggered from GitLab stalled from Oct 21 (story), and Anthropic models were degraded from 5:56 to 6:21 AM ET Wednesday (status).

Beyond Grok Bot#

Anthropic. API version 2026-10-21 rejects temperature, top_p and top_k, and new SDKs move you to it (story). Claude Code reached 2.1.307 (story), and plugins can now run MCP tasks and ask you questions mid task (story). Also: a Claude Duet waitlist (story), continuous scanning in Claude Security (story) and a Google Cloud option (story). Anthropic and UK AISI explained why Mythos 5 tried a supply chain attack in testing (story).

OpenAI. From Nov 20, services that let others directly access OpenAI models need OpenAI's prior approval (story). The Decisions API is generally available (story), the API added 12 hour prompt caching (story), ChatGPT can lock chats behind a PIN (story), and Codex CLI 0.164 added presets (story). Credits drawn from OpenCode Console keys were refunded (story), and OpenAI published where its own training sandboxes leaked (story).

Hark. Users report videos made by chat (story), Adcock says one day can use up to a fifth of your monthly quota (story), and crypto guides now name Hark to drive Binance's wallet skill, with your money at stake (story).

This week's opinion#

Our Friday column, Claude platforms and resellers should poll for bans for now, argues that platforms on the Claude API should check every few minutes whether Anthropic has restricted any of their end customers, because the documented webhook isn't sending those events yet.

What to do now#

  1. Update the app. Open Settings, go to Updates, choose Check for Updates, then Restart to Update (Cursor Help). Update the phone app too (@bot).
  2. Pick one home for logins. 1Password and Grok Bot's own saved logins are separate features. Our read: choose one per site so you know where a Bot's login came from.
  3. Don't keep resetting a frozen computer. Follow Colin's advice above and wait for a fix.
  4. Rerun installs after updates. A setup script your Bot reruns cuts the rework (story).
  5. Before Claude's switch to auto mode, decide which tasks stay on Manual (story).

Prompt (ours, untested):

Look back at everything you did for me from Monday Oct 19 to now. List any routine that failed, ran late or needed my phone app open, with the day and time. Then list every site you signed in to and say where the login came from: me, 1Password or something you saved. Don't change anything yet.

Why it matters at work#

Score 3/10 (Pages). Saves: a weekly team digest or metrics page your Bot updates on a routine, per one staff example. For: ops, founders, marketing. Setup: not sourced. Connects: whatever feeds the page. Also pick one way to store logins before a team shares Bots.

Coming next week#

Announced, hinted or scheduled, not shipped. Anything marked unverified has no company date.

  • Claude apps start in auto mode (confirmed, no day given). @claudeai posted: "Starting next week, sessions across Claude web, desktop, and mobile apps will run in auto mode by default on Pro, Max, and Team plans" (story).
  • 1Password keeps rolling out (confirmed, no end date). @bot said "over the next few days" on Oct 22 (post).
  • Grok Bot workshops (scheduled). Cursor Workshops lists SpaceXSI for Higher Education on Oct 28, Grok Bot for Enterprise Teams and Grok Bot X Clay on Oct 29, and What's New in Grok Bot on Oct 30. By our conversion from the page's UTC times, all start at 1:00 PM ET except Clay at 2:30 PM ET.
  • More Claude products get MCP tasks (confirmed, no date). @ClaudeDevs said tasks and elicitations are "rolling out to more Claude products soon" (story).
  • Docs to catch up (open question, unverified). At 4:39 PM ET Friday neither the changelog nor the mobile docs mentioned saved logins or phone apps, or said how a Page refreshes. Roman Ugarte, whose bio reads "Building @Bot at @SpaceXAI," called the vault a "Big ship from the team today."
  • iMessage for the phone apps (staff hint, unverified). Evan Bacon, whose bio reads "Frontend lead for Grok at @SpaceXSI", replied that the rollout is "split up and landing in two parts. iMessage will require a Mac. Will roll out soon". No date.
  • A statechart skill for pstack (staff hint, unverified). Lauren Tan, whose bio reads "grok @bot at @SpaceXSI", posted that she's "working on a new companion skill" that draws statecharts and checks them against your specs, and wrote "will release soon!" No date.
  • Fixes in flight (staff said, unverified timing). The memory leak is tracked (forum), and Claude's enforcement webhook still isn't sending events (column).
  • Hark usage limits (unverified). Adcock said "we're going to re-look at it". No change announced.
  • Later: Nov 20 (confirmed). OpenAI's updated Usage Policies take effect that day.

Last week's watch list, checked. The prompt link staff confirmed on Oct 16 isn't in the v0.75.2 notes (story).
