Grok Bot can now use Calendar, Reminders and Contacts on your phone

Grok Bot says it's rolling out on iOS and Android, so update the app and expect it to reach you over time.

Update the Grok Bot app on your phone, then look for a way to let your Bot use your phone's Calendar, Reminders and Contacts. The official account posted at 6:14 PM ET: "Grok Bot can now use Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, and more apps on your phone. Rolling out now on iOS and Android." Because it's rolling out, you may not have it yet.

What changed#

The post names three apps plus "more apps." Its attached image, not the post text, also shows Messages, Location and Home, each with an Allow button. Treat those three as shown in the image, not announced. No release notes, docs or changelog entry describe the feature yet.

Why it matters#

Our read: everyday phone chores, like checking tomorrow or setting a reminder, can go to your Bot without you copying details into chat. The image suggests you allow each app separately.

How to use it#

  1. Update the app. A follow-up post says: "Update to the latest version to try it."
  2. Allow only what the task needs. Our read: expect your phone to ask for its own permission too, the first time.
  3. Start read-mostly. A first task (ours, untested):
Check my calendar for tomorrow and set a reminder 30 minutes before each meeting. Don't change or delete any events.

Good to know#

  • It's staggered. "Rolling out now" (post) means you might not see it even on the latest version.
  • The store listings don't mention it. At 6:52 PM ET the App Store showed 1.17.0 from Oct 21 ("Improved design of Connect Apps screen"), and Google Play showed 1.17.0, updated Oct 18 ("Bug fixes and improvements").
  • No docs yet. The changelog still ended at 0.71.2 (Oct 14), and the mobile docs don't mention phone app access.

What to watch: official setup steps, and whether Messages, Location and Home ship. None is announced.

Last checked: Oct 22, 2026, 6:52 to 6:56 PM ET (both @bot posts, App Store, Google Play, changelog, mobile docs). What changed: first published Oct 22; no updates since.
