Krea plugin brings outside image and video models to Grok Bot
Add Krea to Grok Bot and your Bot can make images and video, upscale and use your trained styles, billed to your Krea plan.
"introducing Krea for Grok bot", Krea posted at 12:00 PM ET Oct 23: "generate images and video with the best models in the world, right from Grok." At 2:05 PM ET lauren (@poteto), whose X bio reads "grok @bot at @SpaceXSI", replied: "install it here!"
What changed#
The plugin page says Krea is "Published by Krea on the Cursor Marketplace" and can "Generate, edit, enhance, and produce images and videos with Krea's creative AI suite."
Krea's MCP page names image models "Krea 2, Flux, Nano Banana Pro, and more", video from "Veo, Kling, Wan, Runway, Sora, and more", upscaling "up to 22K with Topaz" and "Your trained styles, in every agent".
Why it matters#
Grok Bot already makes video: v0.75.2 on the changelog says "Bots can create videos from a description or from an image you share." Our read: Krea adds other models, your Krea styles and big upscales in the same chat.
How to use it#
Krea's steps for Grok Bot:
- "In Grok Bot, select Plugins in the sidebar. On mobile, tap your avatar, then Plugins."
- "Search for Krea and add it."
- "Choose Authorize and finish the Krea sign-in in your browser."
Grok Bot's changelog calls that screen Connect Apps: "Marketplace is now Connect Apps" (v0.67.0, Oct 2). The plugin page also has "Add to Grok Bot".
A first task (ours, untested):
Use Krea to make three square product shots of my mug on a plain white table. Tell me which model you used and how many compute units it cost.
Good to know#
- Free works, with less. Krea says MCP "works on the free plan with no API key." Its pricing page gives Free "100 units / day", marks "All video models" and "Commercial license" as not included, and caps free upscaling at 2K. 22K starts on paid plans.
- Pro price. Pro is $35 a month billed monthly, or $21 a month billed annually ($252 a year), for 20,000 units a month (pricing).
- Krea bills it. Krea's docs: "Compute units are deducted from the selected workspace," the one you pick at sign-in.
