Bots show no usage after a half-finished X Subscription switch
Staff say starting the switch from the wrong account can unhook your SuperGrok plan from your Bots. Don't buy a second plan; email support.
If the Grok Bot account that holds your Bots suddenly shows no included usage while your SuperGrok plan is still active, don't buy a second plan and don't keep retrying the switch. Cursor staff member kevinn said at 6:59 PM ET: "It's a known issue we're tracking, and it doesn't clear up on its own." He asked affected people to email hi@cursor.com instead.
- Who: people switching to The X Subscription, most often those with more than one Cursor or Grok Bot account. Staff gave no count.
- Symptom: the Grok Bot account with your Bots shows no included usage.
- Money risk: paying again on that account is the move staff asked people not to make.
- Status: tracked, no fix date. Staff say it doesn't clear up on its own.
What changed#
At 4:01 PM ET a forum user said they had seen "a couple of reports" of "bots that were previously available suddenly showing no included usage, even when the underlying plan is still active."
kevinn replied: "The most common way people run into it is starting the switch to The X Subscription from a different Cursor or Grok Bot account than the one that holds their bots, and stopping before checkout finishes. That can disconnect the SuperGrok plan from the Grok Bot account with the bots, and that account then shows no included usage." He added: "There are a few other unify paths that end up in a similar place, and the team is working through them."
Why it matters#
The obvious fix, paying again on the account that looks empty, is the one staff ruled out. Cursor's help page also says of the switch: "The switch is permanent. It can't be undone, and Support can't undo it for you." Our read: with a step that can't be reversed, it's safer to stop and let support find the right accounts than to try again yourself.
What to do now#
- Stop. kevinn asked: "please don't buy a second plan on the other account or keep retrying the switch."
- Email support. In the same post: "Email hi@cursor.com with every email address you use for Cursor, Grok and Grok Bot, whether you use Grok Bot on desktop, mobile or grok.com, and a screenshot of the account and plan Grok Bot shows." He said that "lets the team look at the right accounts."
Good to know#
- Haven't switched yet and have more than one account? The help page says "you choose a primary Cursor account when you switch, and your other Cursor accounts are combined into it." Our read, not staff advice: start from the account that holds your Bots, and finish checkout once you start.
- This is a different problem from the older Bots stuck after the merge, which left Bots unresponsive; staff said a fix for that went out on Oct 14. This one leaves Bots without usage.
- It's also different from today's report of Bots missing after the switch, where staff said the Bots "aren't lost."
- The support address in this thread is hi@cursor.com. An earlier merge thread pointed to support@x.ai.
What to watch#
A staff update in the forum thread, or a changelog line about plans reconnecting after an unfinished switch.
