Two AI agents pass a daily research note through Gmail drafts

A user says Muse, Meta's AI agent, saves a research draft to Gmail at 4:45 AM PT, and their Grok Bot turns it into an X post draft at 5:30.

You can let one AI agent hand work to another through your own Gmail drafts folder, so nothing gets sent while they pass it along. @Shicheng_lsc says they run this every morning: "muse does AI news research and saves it as an email draft to me," and then "grok bot searches my drafts for that subject with today's date and writes my X post from it." Muse is Meta's personal AI agent; Meta's launch post says people choose whether it "reads their mail or can also send on their behalf."

What it replaces#

Before: doing the morning research and the writing yourself, or copying one agent's output into the other by hand. After: a draft with a fixed, dated subject waits in Gmail at 4:45 AM Pacific, and the second agent picks it up at 5:30.

How it works#

From the author's Nov 1 post:

  1. The research step: "every morning at 4:45am pacific muse does AI news research and saves it as an email draft to me. same subject every day plus the date."
  2. The writing step: "at 5:30 grok bot searches my drafts for that subject with today's date and writes my X post from it."
  3. The date rule: put the date in the subject, such as [radar] 2026-11-01, and "tell the second bot to only take today's, or it could grab yesterday's."
  4. The no-send rule: tell the first agent "save it as a draft to me, don't send". The author adds that "muse even adds a list of what it couldn't confirm".

The author also checked that the hand-off is real. On Oct 30, they write, the draft had a study citing 2,337 runs, "and that exact number was in the post that went up that morning." That Oct 30 post does cite "19 models, 2,337 runs."

The author says it has run "9 days, 9 daily drafts," and earlier posts fit that: on Oct 26 they wrote "when grok bot logs into muse for me," and on Oct 27 they replied "mine just leaves a gmail draft at 4:45am." All of it comes from this one account.

Good to know#

  • Results are self-reported, and small. The account had 4 followers when we checked. In a weekly check-in the author said the AI wrote "5 drafts last week, i posted 2," and a line they typed themselves did better: "mine got 100 views. the AI one ... got 21".
  • The author says the AI drafts posts on this account, so the posts we quote may be partly bot-written. Posting still waits for them: "nothing goes out until i ok that exact draft" (Oct 27).
  • Both agents need access to the same Gmail account. Decide what each one may do there before you connect it.
  • Schedules follow your Bot's time zone. Cursor's routines page says "Schedules use the time zone in Settings, under Bot, labeled Timezone", and "Each run spends usage".

Set it up in Grok Bot#

If you only use Grok Bot, one routine can do both steps. To copy the two-agent hand-off, give the Grok Bot side something like this.

Starter prompt (ours, untested):

Prompt
Every weekday at 5:30 AM, search my Gmail drafts for a draft whose
subject is exactly "[radar] " followed by today's date (YYYY-MM-DD).
Use only today's draft. If there isn't one, tell me and stop.
From that draft, write one X post draft in my voice. Keep every
number and name exactly as the draft has it, and skip anything the
draft lists as unconfirmed. Show me the post here. Don't post,
send or delete anything.

On the research side, tell your other agent to save its notes as a draft to you with that same dated subject, and never to send.
