A Grok Bot that watches X lists and pings before posts take off

A podcast host's routine checks four X lists every 10 minutes so replies land while a post is still young.

You can have a Grok Bot watch the X lists you care about and tell you when a fresh post is picking up speed, so your reply lands while people are still reading. Travis Wright (@teedubya), whose bio starts "Builder of Fintech, Blockchain, Web3 & AI | Chief Web4 AI Officer", calls it "Hot Tweet Bot" and says it is the "crown jewel" of the 30 bots he runs.

What it replaces#

Before: scrolling lists and finding a good post after the conversation has moved on. After: a ping "when a post is only minutes old and gaining velocity. Not viral. About to be viral."

How it works#

From his Oct 27 article:

  1. The watch list: "It scans 4 of my X lists every 10 minutes."
  2. The schedule: a routine. "Hot Tweet Bot runs every 10 minutes."
  3. The output: a ping, not a reply. "Right now Hot Tweet Bot pings me." The human writes and posts the reply.

The result, in his words: "My daily X impressions were bouncing between roughly 0.5K and 5K a day. A few days after I started using Hot Tweet Bot for reply strategy, I was at 23K to 25K a day." That is self-reported and we have not checked it. The bot was already running on Oct 11: "One watches my X lists and pings me when a post starts to pop."

Good to know#

  • Every 10 minutes is 144 runs a day. Cursor's routines page says "Each run spends usage" and "a short interval" can "use a week of usage in a day." A weekday, waking-hours schedule costs less.
  • The article doesn't say how the bot measures "velocity." You will have to define it, for example likes per minute since posting.
  • Disclosure: the article plugs the author's FourthWeb.ai, his Substack newsletter and The Bad Crypto Podcast.
