A Grok Bot that writes a weekly CRM release roundup every Monday
A CRM Switch co-founder's Monday routine covers 17 vendors and posts a ranked, dated page, quiet ones included.
You can have a Grok Bot read a set of vendors' release notes every Monday and hand you one ranked page of what shipped last week. Steve (@SteveChipman), whose X bio reads "Co-founder and marketing lead at CRMSwitch.com", runs one for CRM software and publishes the result as CRM Vendor Updates.
What it replaces#
Before: opening Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Close and a long tail of AI-native CRM changelogs one by one. After: one page, sorted by job (capturing conversations, prospecting, pipeline, AI assistants, handoffs and service, data and APIs, company news).
How it works#
From their Oct 27 post:
- The schedule: "Grok Bot digs across multiple sources every Monday morning and writes up the week."
- The date rule: "Only items dated the previous week make the cut, and quiet vendors get listed as such."
- The output: "A bot pushes the information to a CRM Switch subdomain page hosted on Netlify."
The live page covers the week of Oct 19 to 25 and lists 17 vendors in its "Find a vendor" index (our count). The page says "Each item shows its status so you can see what you can use now," with labels such as Live, Beta, Early access and Founder claim, and each item gets a one-line "Why ranked" reason. The ranking rule is printed: "Beta, preview and early-access items rank lower, and unverified vendor or founder claims rank lowest." A "Quiet this week" list says why each silent vendor made no cut; HubSpot had "only a developer notice."
It is a habit, not a one-off. On Oct 11 it was one of six bots: "CRM vendor updates: reports on weekly CRM vendor updates from various sources, including founders' LinkedIn profiles." On Oct 12 they posted a screenshot of an earlier edition, for the week of Oct 5 to 11, with "This page is updated weekly by Grok Bot and redeployed." On Oct 27 they said "This week's layout has been updated, and this will be the new weekly format".
Good to know#
- The date cut is strict. Zoho CRM is listed as quiet even though, per the page, announcements landed just before and just after the week.
- LinkedIn items link to profile pages, not posts. The page says "individual post URLs not collected", so those claims are hard to check.
- The posts don't say how the bot deploys to Netlify. Plan your own publish step, or skip it and have the write-up sent to you.
- A weekly routine is about four runs a month. Cursor's routines page says "Each run spends usage, so a routine that runs often spends more than one that runs rarely."
- Disclosure: the page ends with a pitch for the author's CRM Switch consulting, which says "We don't represent any CRM vendors."
Set it up in Grok Bot#
Starter prompt (ours, untested):
Every Monday at 8 AM, check what these vendors shipped last week
(Monday to Sunday): [vendor list with changelog URLs].
Only include items dated last week. Group them by the job they help with,
give each a status (live, beta, early access, claim only) and a source link.
List vendors with nothing new under "Quiet this week" and say what you checked.
Send the write-up to me in this chat. Don't post or publish it anywhere.
