A crypto creator's bot prints a fact-checked one-page news sheet each morning
A crypto creator says his Grok Bot checks the overnight news and prints him one page at 6 AM Central.
You can have a bot read your beat overnight and hand you one checked page with your coffee. James Rule, whose X bio promotes "The James Rule Crypto Show YouTube" and $XRP, says "I run a Grok Bot I call my Chief of Research." The result is self-reported. We have not run it.
What it replaces#
Before: "45 minutes to an hour of scrolling and cross-checking sources" plus "30 to 45 minutes of posting by hand." After: "By my own estimate, it saves me about an hour and a half a day." Rule adds: "I still read everything and make the calls. It just does the legwork."
How it works#
- Pull the window. "Every morning it pulls the last 24 hours of crypto news."
- Check it. It "checks it against primary sources."
- Build one page. It "builds my one-page briefing."
- Print it. In a second post Rule says the bot "builds this and prints it on my printer every morning at 6:00am Central." The Oct 19 sheet led with a Qubic wallet drain, Korea's crypto tax meeting, "A second week of Bitcoin ETF outflows" and the Cysic bridge exploit.
- Approve posts. "It also preps and handles my posts once I approve them."
Rule did not say how the printer or the posting step is wired, so treat those two as open questions for your own setup.
Starter prompt (ours, untested; built from Rule's description, since he published none):
Every weekday at 6 AM, collect the last 24 hours of news on [beat].
Keep only stories you can confirm from a primary source (the company,
the regulator, the court filing, the onchain record). Link each one.
Fit it on one page: 4 to 6 stories, two lines each, newest first.
Put anything you could not confirm under "Unconfirmed" at the bottom.
Draft one post about the top story and wait for my OK.
Good to know#
- Our read: one page is the constraint that makes this work. Ask for a hard story limit so the sheet stays readable.
- "Checked against primary sources" is a rule you have to write down. Name the sources you trust in the prompt.
- Keep posting behind your approval, as Rule does.
- Disclosure: Rule is a crypto creator with about 210,000 followers. The same morning he posted "I built 10 of them, all FREE" about his bot templates, and on Oct 16 he promoted his mailing list and the "James Ruhl Crypto Show" (spelled that way in the post). This is a creator describing his own setup, not a sponsored review.
Same idea in Grok Bot#
This is already a Grok Bot setup. Start with one routine on weekdays, read the first week of sheets on screen, and only add a print or post step once the page is right.
