Grok Bot 0.69 and 0.70 builds appear ahead of the changelog

Update, Oct 13: The changelog now lists 0.70.2 (Oct 11), which rolls up 0.69.0, 0.69.1, 0.70.0 and 0.70.1. Headline items are Bot email addresses, X search and in-chat apps.

Update, Oct 12: Staff named 0.70.2 on Monday morning and said it keeps the local helper running when the Grok Bot window has been unfocused. mohitjain posted a Linux install link for that fix, and told Mac users to use Settings, Updates. We fetched the Linux 0.70.2 .deb from Cursor's download server at 8:36 AM ET (HTTP 200, file date Oct 11 1:32 AM ET, about 105 MB). A forum report from Chris_Doyle shows a version field of 0.70.2 on macOS stable, built Oct 11, while the same post's description still says App Version 0.68.1. No staff reply on that report. The changelog still ends at 0.68.1. Staff have described only the unfocused-window behavior in 0.70.2. The rest of 0.69 and 0.70 is still unlisted. Newer Grok Bot desktop builds may be rolling out before they're announced. At 8:28 AM ET Sunday, we found Mac installers for 0.69.0, 0.69.1 and 0.70.0 on Cursor's public download server, in the same stable folder as 0.68.1. The app inside the 0.70.0 installer reported its version as 0.70.0. The changelog still ends at 0.68.1 from Oct 7, and its Download for macOS button still delivered 0.68.1 when we last checked that path.

What we found#

• 0.69.0: uploaded Oct 8 at 5:47 PM ET, according to the server's file date.
• 0.69.1: uploaded Oct 9 at 2:30 PM ET.
• 0.70.0: uploaded Oct 10 at 2:28 PM ET. We downloaded it and read the version from the app's own settings file.
• 0.70.2: staff named it on Oct 12 for the unfocused-window fix. Linux .deb on the download server (see Update above).

One user already reports running 0.69.1. On Saturday, Parag_Chhibber wrote that his Windows computers run "the latest version of Grok Bot Client, (0.69.1)," and in another thread said a routines bug persists on that version.

Why it's a rumor#

A file on a server isn't a full release note. Staff have now described one behavior in 0.70.2 (the unfocused-window helper). They have not published a changelog for 0.69 or 0.70, and have not said what else those builds contain, who gets them, or when. Builds can still be staged and then pulled. Prefer the app's own updater on Mac, and the install link staff posted when you need the Linux fix, rather than hunting other installers.

What to watch#

• A 0.69 or 0.70 section on the changelog. That's the confirmation for the full release.
• Settings, Updates, Check for Updates offering a new version in your app.
