Grok Bot is getting built-in phone calls, Elon Musk says

Musk says your Bot can call a person or business and send you notes, and test builds show a Calls panel, but the changelog doesn't list it yet.

Your Bot may soon place phone calls without any add-on. On Sunday at 10:35 AM ET Elon Musk posted: "Grok @Bot can now call someone or a business for you, make a request on your behalf, take notes on the response and send you a note summarizing the conversation!"

What changed#

Musk was quoting a post about test builds. On Saturday, blankspeaker, whose bio reads "@SpaceXSI's Grok Community Mod", listed features "spotted in prerelease builds since yesterday (0.77.0-pre.3 → pre.19)", including "Calls panel", "Pressed keys readout" and "On hold status". Alex (@alexmichaelio) described it this way: "your Bot can dial someone, sit on hold, press keys and get transferred while you watch a live transcript."

Brian Roemmele, whose Bot booked a table by phone through an outside service on Oct 18, wrote: "But with version 0.77 we will have this integrated!" Musk reposted him.

Why it matters#

Today a Bot needs a calling service such as ClawCall or Bland for this. Built-in calling would remove that setup step.

How to use it#

Until 0.77 ships, follow our Oct 19 guide to connect a calling service. Then try one call (ours, untested):

Call [business] at [number] and ask [your request]. Before you dial, read the plan back to me and wait for my OK. Don't agree to pay anything or share card details. After the call, send me a short note with exactly what they said.

Good to know#

  • Nothing official yet. The docs have no calls page, and the newest release we have on record is 0.75.5.
  • blankspeaker's own caveat: "These may or may not be available when this ships to the public and are based on analysis of the changes between builds."
  • No plan, price, country or phone number details have been posted.

What to watch#

A 0.77 changelog entry naming who gets calls and what each call costs, and whether a Bot asks before it dials.

Last checked: Oct 26, 2026, 6:56 AM to 7:02 AM ET (Musk/blankspeaker/Alex/Roemmele posts via X API; live x.ai/changelog/bot still v0.75.5; docs.x.ai/grok-bot nav and /calls 404). What changed: first published Oct 26; no updates since.
