Grok Bot 0.75.8: Bots can propose Auto-review rules on a card

The Oct 24 release, rolling out today, lets a Bot add, change or remove one of your Auto-review rules once you confirm a card, and Auto-review takes a second look before asking you.

Update Grok Bot and your Bot can write an Auto-review rule for you, which you confirm on a card. It's in 0.75.8, which the Grok Bot changelog dates Oct 24 and which "Also includes 0.75.6 and 0.75.7." At 5:34 PM ET today Eric Zakariasson (@ericzakariasson, "tinkering @spacexsi, prev @cursor_ai") posted that "grok @bot 0.75.8 is now stable and rolling out!"

What changed#

New, per the changelog: "In the app, a Bot can offer to add, change, or remove one of your Auto-review rules on a card you confirm."

Improved:

  • "Auto-review takes a second look before showing an approval card, so fewer safe actions need one."
  • "Auto-review no longer counts a Bot saving or editing one of its routines as risky by itself."
  • "Auto-review approval cards in Slack describe the action, as they do in the app."
  • For Teams: "People not on a Team Bot's share list, including teammates, no longer have access to it until an owner shares it with them."

Fixed: "When a connector such as X adds tools or fields, Bots can use them without you reconnecting it."

Why it matters#

The approvals docs, last updated Oct 22, say to "Open Settings → General → Auto-review to add rules." The card brings that into chat, and nothing changes until you confirm.

How to use it#

  1. Open Settings, then Updates, choose Check for Updates, then Restart to Update (Cursor help).
  2. In the app, ask your Bot for one narrow rule.
  3. Read the card, then confirm.

We did not confirm the rule card on this Bot computer; the desktop app Auto-review Settings and in-chat rule cards are outside our reporting scan. Steps come from the changelog and docs.

A starter prompt (ours, untested):

Add an Auto-review rule that asks me first before you send any external email. Show me the card.

Good to know#

  • The rule card and the background-work change each say "Requires Grok Bot 0.75.2 or later."
  • The docs say "If both kinds of rule match, Ask first wins."
  • Teammates not on a Team Bot's share list lose access, so owners should check those lists.

What to watch#

Whether the docs add the rule card, and whether it reaches Slack.

Last checked: Oct 26, 2026, 6:19 to 6:23 PM ET (x.ai/changelog/bot and its RSS, X posts and bios via the X API, docs.x.ai approvals page, oxo.com spec for the cover). What changed: first published Oct 26; no updates since.
