A daily Grok Bot ops report that replaces checking Vercel
@linxiaotao1993 gets one Vercel spend and errors report a day from Grok Bot: one line when all is clear, a numbered fix list when not.
If you run projects on Vercel, a Grok Bot can check spend and errors for you every morning and post the result in chat. Developer @linxiaotao1993 built one because they "got tired of opening Vercel every morning just to check spend and errors," and says "I use it myself." They shared it as a free template. The result is self-reported. We have not run it.
What it replaces#
Before: a morning visit to the Vercel dashboard. After: "Every day it posts a short ops report in chat." The report covers four things, in the author's list:
- spend against the Pro plan credit, "with end-of-cycle estimate"
- traffic spikes or drops on top projects
- "5xx, 404s, new errors (same bugs merged), 402s"
- failed deploys
The part worth copying is the rule for how loud to be. "Quiet day → one line: all clear + spend. Bad day → numbered “fix these first”." You only read more than one line when something is wrong.
How it works#
The author's setup is three steps: "Import it, connect Vercel, pick a time. No code."
- Open the Vercel Ops Monitor template and import it. The template page describes it as "Daily Vercel ops: spend vs plan credit, 5xx, traffic swings, 404s, new errors and failed deploys. Quiet days stay one short line."
- Connect Vercel to the Bot.
- Pick the time of day for the scheduled routine.
If you would rather build your own, here is a starter (ours, shaped from the author's list; not the template's text):
Every day at 8 AM, check my Vercel account and post one report here.
Cover: spend so far against my plan's included credit with an estimate
for the end of the billing cycle; traffic spikes or drops on my top
projects; 5xx, 404 and 402 responses; new errors, merging repeats of the
same bug; and failed deploys since the last report.
If nothing needs me, reply with one line: all clear plus spend.
If something does, give a numbered "fix these first" list, worst first.
Read only. Do not redeploy, roll back or change settings.
What you need connected#
Vercel, connected to the Bot, and a daily time. The author's post names nothing else.
Good to know#
- Keep it read-only. A daily check does not need to redeploy or roll back, and saying so in the instructions keeps a bad morning from getting worse.
- The quiet-day line still includes spend, so you see cost every day even when nothing broke.
- What the report can show depends on what the Vercel connection exposes. We did not check whether every metric in the list comes through on every plan.
- The author's bio links to apps they built. The post does not sell anything, and the template is free. The template page lists its author as "Gu"; the X post shares it as the author's own.
Same idea in Grok Bot#
This one already runs in Grok Bot. To adapt it, keep the two-speed rule (one line when calm, a numbered list when not) and save it as a skill so other ops reports, like a database or a status page, can reuse the same shape.
