Shopify connector for running your store
Connect Shopify and a Bot can check orders, track inventory, and keep product listings current for you.
Grok Bot has a Shopify connector. The @bot account announced it at 12:11 PM ET on Oct 8: connect Shopify, then ask a Bot to "check orders, track inventory, and keep product listings up to date." Shopify announced it 10 minutes earlier, alongside a separate connector for the Grok chatbot.
SpaceXAI hasn't published a help page for this connector yet, so the exact permissions and plan limits aren't documented.
Why it matters#
Until now, a Bot had to use Shopify through the browser on its cloud computer. In September, Shopify's "verify human" check started blocking that sign-in, and forum staff said a proper connection was the real fix. The workaround they suggested was a custom app with an Admin API token. The connector replaces that setup with a normal sign-in.
How to use it#
- Ask your Bot to add Shopify, in the app or by tagging @bot on X. Shopify's own tip says you can ask @bot in the replies to its post. Or open Plugins on the sidebar, search for Shopify, and add it, per Cursor's plugin guide.
- When Grok Bot asks you to Authorize, finish the Shopify login in your browser.
- Check that Shopify shows under Installed.
- Ask for a task. An example prompt, based on the tasks SpaceXAI lists: "List today's unfulfilled orders, flag any product with fewer than 10 units in stock, and draft listing updates for anything out of stock."
A real use case: make it a routine. Cursor's routines guide says to ask in plain words, such as "Every weekday at 9:00 AM, summarize new orders and low stock in this chat." Then open the routine and use Test.
Good to know#
- An installed plugin is available to every Bot on your Grok Bot account, per the help center.
- A plugin can only do what the account you authorize can do.
- Approvals from routines expire after about 10 minutes. Turn on Notifications for a Bot that runs store routines.
- SpaceXAI hasn't said which Shopify actions need approval, or which plans get the connector.
