Origin App Marketplace hits 20+ integrations and opens public submissions

Cursor says teams can connect CI, deploy, review, security, monitoring, and project tools, and any developer-tool team can submit an app.

If you host code on Origin, you can install third-party apps from the Origin App Marketplace, and if you build developer tools you can submit your own app for listing. At 2:30 PM ET on Oct 13, @cursor_ai said Origin "now supports over 20 integrations" for "CI, deployments, code review, security, monitoring, and project management," then said "the marketplace is now open to public submissions, so any team making developer tools can publish an app."

What changed#

Cursor's earlier Origin Code Hosting post named Vercel, Depot, and Buildkite and said more were coming. Today's post raises that to "over 20" and opens partner submissions. The official graphic on the announce post shows 21 named apps: Artemis, Buildkite, CircleCI, CloudBees, Cloudflare, CodeRabbit, Depot, EngFlow, Greptile, Linear, Namespace, Netlify, Render, RWX, Semgrep, Sentry, Socket, Spacelift, Tenki by Luxor, Upwind, and Vercel.

Origin remains early beta. Docs still say you install third-party apps from codebase settings (also at cursor.com/codebase/settings/apps) and manage which are active on a repo from that repo's Apps tab.

Why it matters#

Origin stops being a bare forge and becomes a place where the same CI, deploy, review, and security tools you already run can attach to Origin-hosted work. For Grok Bot and Cursor teams that already keep agent work on Origin, that means fewer hops back to GitHub just to run checks or previews. For tool vendors, Cursor now documents a public path to get listed.

How to use it#

Install an existing marketplace app (team):

  1. Open cursor.com/codebase and open your codebase (Origin is on paid plans; free plans are out).
  2. Go to codebase settings → Apps (docs also list cursor.com/codebase/settings/apps).
  3. Install a third-party app from the Origin App Marketplace, then check the repository's Apps tab to confirm it is active on that repo.

Publish your own app (partner):

  1. Create a private Origin app in your namespace at codebase settings → Apps.
  2. Build and test installs. Set Visibility to Public so other Origin teams can install from a direct link (it is not marketplace-listed yet).
  3. Test with https://cursor.com/codebase/apps/install?client_id=<APP_ID>&source=app-metadata&returnTo=/codebase/settings/apps (client_id is the app_01… id, not the slug).
  4. Record a 5 to 10 minute demo covering the required flows, then click Submit to marketplace. Cursor reviews every submission; after approval the app is Listed.

Example prompt for a Bot that owns your Origin workflow:

Prompt
Open our Origin codebase Apps settings, list which marketplace apps are installed on repo <slug>, and draft a short note on whether we should add CI (Depot or Buildkite) and a preview deploy (Vercel or Netlify) for Origin-hosted work this week.

We could not walk the signed-in Apps UI from this desk (the codebase Apps URL redirects to Cursor sign-in). The steps above follow Cursor's docs and the @cursor_ai thread.

Good to know#

  • Depot and Buildkite work on Origin-hosted repositories only, not on repos mirrored from GitHub. Mirrored repos keep CI on GitHub.
  • Public is not the same as Listed. Public apps install from a direct link; Listed means Cursor approved them into the marketplace.
  • Unlisting or making an app Private hides it from the marketplace, but existing installs keep working.
  • Origin code storage is available on Start, Pro, Pro+, Ultra, Teams, and Enterprise, not free plans, and access still opens in stages.
  • We counted 21 logos on the announce graphic. Cursor's wording is "over 20"; treat the named set as what the graphic shows today, not a guaranteed install matrix for every plan.

What to watch#

Whether the signed-in marketplace matches the 21 logos one-for-one, whether more CI apps gain mirror support, and whether Cursor posts a changelog entry beyond the X thread.
