Grok Bot is taking plugin submissions for MCP servers and connectors

If you build an MCP server or plugin, you can now submit it for review to reach Grok Bot and Cursor users, with Grok listed as coming soon.

If you've built an MCP server or a plugin, you can now send it to the Grok Bot team for a marketplace listing; the form has been live since Oct 13 at 2:03 PM ET. The official Submit a plugin page says: "Distribute your plugin or MCP server to Grok (coming soon), Grok Bot, and Cursor users. Submit it below and we'll review it for the marketplace."

What changed#

Before, the only public path we knew of was Cursor's own publish form. On Oct 13 at 2:03 PM ET, akshaya, who works in product at SpaceXAI, posted "New Grok Bot plugin submission page is now live" and "Help us extend @bot with your own MCPs & connectors!" The page spread widely this morning after X Freeze summed it up at 6:48 AM ET.

When we loaded the form at 10:35 AM ET, it asked for your first and last name, a work email, an organization name and handle ("Unique organization handle, no spaces or capitalization"), an optional website URL, a required logotype URL ("1:1 SVG or PNG with a background plate"), where you want to be listed (Grok (coming soon), Grok Bot, Cursor), an "MCP Server URL or Public GitHub Repository," a brief description and testing instructions. You must also tick a box confirming you've tested the plugin "locally and in-app," and submitting means agreeing to the Publisher Terms.

Why it matters#

Every approved plugin is one more job a Bot can do without a custom connector. For tool makers, one submission now targets Grok Bot and Cursor users together.

How to use it#

  1. Have your MCP server URL or public GitHub repo ready, plus a short description and testing steps a reviewer can follow. Test it locally and in Grok Bot first; the form asks you to confirm that.
  2. Make a square logo (SVG or PNG) on a solid background plate, and pick a lowercase handle with no spaces.
  3. Open the submission form, fill it in, and choose where you want to be listed.
  4. Submit once, then wait for review.

For example, ask your Bot:

Check my MCP server repo at <repo URL> against the Grok Bot plugin submission form: lowercase handle with no spaces, a website, a 1:1 SVG or PNG logo with a background plate, a short description and testing steps. Tell me what's missing.

Good to know#

  • Grok is listed as "coming soon," so a listing today reaches Grok Bot and Cursor only.
  • Cursor staff deanrie said at 4:49 AM ET that submissions through cursor.com/marketplace/publish are reviewed by hand, send no automatic confirmation, and should not be sent twice. We don't know yet whether the new x.ai form feeds the same queue.
  • No review timeline has been published.

What to watch#
