Grok Bot referrals earn a usage reset when a friend pays
US subscribers on Premium, Super or Ultra can now share a link from the gift icon, and each friend who starts paying earns them one usage reset.
US subscribers on Premium, Super or Ultra can now give friends a two-week Grok Bot trial and earn a usage reset. SpaceXSI's new docs page, Refer friends to Grok Bot, says friends "get a 2-week free trial of Premium, and when they become a paid subscriber, you get a free usage reset."
What changed#
- Where the link lives. "Grok Bot on mobile: tap the gift icon in the top right of any chat." On desktop, "click the gift icon in the bottom left, next to Connect apps." On the web, it's at grok.com/dashboard/referrals.
- Your reward. One reset per friend who pays. It "shows as pending first, then is added 7 days after your friend's payment is received", and is "valid for 6 months after it's added." A reset "restores your included usage for the current usage period" (terms).
- No cap for now. "There is currently no limit on the number of Friends you can refer or Rewards you can earn."
Why it matters#
Grok Bot draws from a "shared weekly usage pool" (pricing docs). Hit the limit midweek, and one paying friend's reset restores it.
How to use it#
- Confirm you qualify.
- Open the gift icon and copy your link.
- Share it. Keep the disclosure: "Do not remove the disclosure from our pre-filled share text."
No signed-in Grok Bot on this box (needs paid US Premium, Super or Ultra), so we could not try the gift icon. Prompt below is ours, untested.

Good to know#
- Who can refer: paid Premium, Super or Ultra, US-based, at least 7 days past checkout. "Plus and Team plans can't refer friends right now", and "Cursor and SuperGrok are legacy plans and can't refer friends."
- Who can be referred: no paid Grok, SuperGrok, X Premium, Cursor or X Subscription plan "in the last 12 months". "In-app purchases through Apple or Google aren't part of the referral program right now."
- Clawbacks: a refund or chargeback within 120 days can remove the reward, and if your plan ends, "any pending or unused Rewards are forfeited".
- Banned: ads to your link, coupon sites, and selling links.
What to watch#
Wider eligibility: "We may expand eligibility to other countries by updating these Program Terms."

- Check you're eligible: a paid Premium, Super or Ultra plan on The X Subscription, based in the US, at least 7 days since checkout.
- Find your link: the gift icon in the top right of any chat on mobile, the gift icon in the bottom left next to Connect apps on desktop, or grok.com/dashboard/referrals on the web.
- When you share the link publicly, keep the reward disclosure in the pre-filled share text.
