Grok BotTips
Fix a company Google block by trusting the app named Grok
Your Google admin needs to approve an app called Grok, not Cursor or Grok Bot.
You can clear a company Google block on Gmail, Calendar, or Drive by having your admin trust the app named Grok, Cursor's help center says.
Why it matters#
Admins search for Cursor or Grok Bot and find nothing, because Grok Bot "signs in to Google as Grok, not Cursor." One approval covers every Google plugin those people connect.
How to use it#
- Use the request access button on the Google page if it's there.
- Your admin opens Security > Access and data control > API controls in the Google Admin console.
- Under App access control > Manage third-party app access, they add Grok.
- They set Grok to Trusted, then you choose Authorize again.
Good to know#
- If name search fails, the help center says the admin can use the client ID from the blocked page or review email.
- Switching browsers or relinking doesn't clear a Google admin block. Personal Gmail needs no admin.
- Disabled by team admin is a separate Cursor setting.
- Tried it: We haven't tried this. It needs a company Google Workspace and admin access we don't have.
