Hand Bot-inbox sends from a routine to the main chat
Scheduled runs can't see SendEmail for mail.grokbot.com. Staff say to draft in the routine, then approve the send in chat.
If a scheduled briefing must come from your Bot's mail.grokbot.com address, don't call SendEmail inside the routine. On Monday at 3:37 AM ET, staff member mohitjain said routine runs "don't currently get your Bot's inbox tools, only its main chat does." His two paths: "Gmail is the way to send the briefing unattended," or "have the routine hand it to the Bot's main chat, which will ask you to approve the send."
How to use it#
- Write the routine so it only gathers and drafts.
- End with a handoff to the main chat, not a send.
- When the chat asks, approve SendEmail from the Bot inbox.
- If you need zero taps, switch the From account to Gmail for that routine.
Draft today's briefing as an email from my mail.grokbot.com address. Do not send it in this routine. Hand the finished draft to my main chat and ask me to approve SendEmail there.
Good to know#
- The user who found this saw a clean "SendEmail not found" error, not an Auto-review block.
- A separate bug can block saving email-triggered routines. See the known issue.
Steps
- Keep the routine's job as research and drafting only.
- End the routine by handing the finished draft to the Bot's main chat.
- Approve SendEmail from the mail.grokbot.com inbox in that chat.
- For fully unattended mail, send through Gmail instead.
